Seanny Odero

Programs Director

Ms. Seanny Odero is currently the Programs Director for Trans*Alliance Kenya. Seanny holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations and Diplomacy, Diploma in English and Literature, and is also a Senior OHCHR LGBTI Fellowship Alumnus with over ten years of experience focused on sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) services with notable civil society organizations (CSO) in Kenya targeting transgender, gender diverse, and intersex movements; key populations including in coercive settings (Streets and Prisons), and women disproportionately impacted by HIV. Seanny boasts of a rich reservoir of experience in public policy, public health, media and community relations, public relations research, government and corporate relations, investor and financial relations, publicity and speaking engagements, and diplomatic and consular relations including engagements with Canadian Embassy, InterPride, UNDP, PEPFAR, CDC, USAID, and Global Fund processes

Edgar Tekere

Strategic Communications Associate

Edgar, MA (International Relations), BA (Public Relations) is currently the Strategic Communications Associate at TA and a seasoned IR and PR Practitioner. Edgar has been actively involved in creating safe spaces for the broader LGBTQI to convene meetings for over 5 years. A Meticulous Advocate and Defender of Human Rights.  

Dr. Lawrence Smith

Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning Associate (MERL) Associate

Dr. Smith holds a  (PhD., M.A (Econ)., B.Finance/Econ, CPA-K) and is a Certified M&E  professional with over 5 years of experience in policy research & development, evidence-based advocacy, conducting surveys, project management, and financial management. Dr. Lawrence also exhibits strong and sound leadership, governance, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

Kaka Jumah

Community Liaisons Associate

Kaka Jumah is a human rights Defender with over 7 years of experience in advancing sexual minority rights in Kenya. Kaka is an experienced Community Paralegal and Certified Trainer of Trainees (ToT) with the National AIDS/STI Control Programme (NASCOP) under the Key and Vulnerable Populations (KVP) program in Kenya. Currently, Kaka works as Trans*Alliance’s Community liaisons Associate; and is also very passionate about photography, videography, and networking for collegial support. As a professional footballer, his work around advancing Trans rights around the discourse of discrimination against women in sports over the years has been quite successful in creating safe spaces for Trans persons to participate in sports.

Enos Adera

Advocacy Associate

Adera is a passionate African Queer, Trans Feminist, and Gender Minority Rights, Activist. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Community Health and Development from Jaramogi University of Science and Technology. She is trained on human rights mechanisms by Pan African ILGA and is also an alumnus of International People’s Health University under Gender Justice and Health. Adera also sits on the Board of Eastern Africa LGBTI Chamber of Commerce. She is a qualified community social worker with experience in advocating and defending the rights of LGBTIQ persons in Kenya. In Trans*Alliance she manages the portfolio in developing develop advocacy strategy, influencing strategic partnerships, and resource mobilizing in the achievement of organizational goals and objectives.

Stephen Okullo

Finance, and Admin Assistant

Stephen (B. Com in Finance, CPA 5, Diploma in Accounting) is a driven accountant with three years of experience specializing in accounting, auditing, budgeting, and payroll for diverse organizations. Advanced knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices. Fosters transparency, understanding, and ownership of financial reports and financial and operational metrics across the organization—a thorough knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, public finance, and external reporting.
